Melissa Bates
Currently a Prince George based Community Analyst with Strategies North, Melissa is working towards her masters in Natural Resources and Environmental Studies at the University of Northern British Columbia. Her academic background is set in the social sciences of psychology and anthropology from the University of British Columbia which has led her to be focused on the intersections of mental health and environmental connection in her current work. Passionate about strengthening Indigenous protected areas, cultural revitalization efforts and land-based healing projects she has a focus on fully understanding the impacts of ecosystem loss on social systems. Finding the strength in interdisciplinary approaches and a broad research background, Melissa is able to bring multiple perspectives to any challenge.
