Sophie currently resides in Vancouver, BC, but was born and raised in Ottawa, ON. She holds a Bachelor of Global and International Studies with a specialization in Global Law and Social Justice from Carleton University. Her undergraduate studies reflect her love for travel and international affairs, combined with a deep passion for addressing issues of social injustice. Before joining Strategies North, Sophie focused her work and education on advancing equity and capacity-building initiatives for Indigenous communities in Canada, including supporting First Nations in accessing resources and advocating for culturally safe policies. In her spare time, you can find Sophie with her nose in a book, making pottery, hiking, or enjoying good food with great company.
